The Best Wedding Planning Podcasts

Here are the top 5 episodes EACH of seasons 2 and 3. If you want to hear the top episodes of Season 1, head back to Episode 67 of the podcast or the last episode of Season 2 where I share the best of the best from Seasons 1 and 2.

And now for our top 5 episodes of Season 2.

Season 2:

#5 – How to Put together Your Wedding Seating Chart (Ep. 61)– In this episode I give an overview of the different types of tools  that you can use to put together your wedding seating chart.

#4 – Your Wedding Rentals Checklist (Ep. 63) – In this episode I go over the myriad of items that couples can rent for their wedding. Spoiler alert, I’m a big proponent of renting items instead of buying them and then trying to re-sell them. There’s a lot of waste in this world, so renting items is a more environmentally friendly solution. Lastly, it’s just time-consuming to buy all that stuff and then turn around and try to find someone that’s going to have the same exact needs and color scheme as you ,but to each their own.

#3 – How to Avoid Embarrassing Wedding Speeches, Vows, and toasts (Ep. 62) – This was a really popular episode with Brian Franklin of Wedding Vows and Speeches. Brian was originally a political campaign speechwriter, he was able to give some GREAT tips on how to corral your wedding party so they won’t say embarrassing things about you at your wedding.  Trust me, it happens.

#2 – What the Heck does a Wedding Planner do at the Wedding? (Ep. 64) – I was actually surprised that this one originally did so well! In this episode I took you behind the scenes with me almost minute by minute as I got ready and executed a wedding. Yes, there was some drama, things did go wrong. It was really eye opening for some of you to hear that we wedding planners don’t just walk around with clipboards pointing and telling people what to do. This episode  gave a lot of you food for thought as to whether or not you would want to hire a wedding planner.

Finally, drum-roll please – The #1 podcast episode of Season 2 was

#1 – Common Wedding Planning Questions (Ep. 50) – In this episode, I answered popular questions that have been submitted to me over time. This included what I thought about wedding venues that don’t have a separate ceremony space from the reception so they have to “flip” the dinner space during cocktail hour.

Also, how to cut down your guest list.

How to decide if a wedding planner is a good fit for you.

And lastly , How to assign seating for wedding guests and what’s an easy, yet efficient way to assign guests to their tables and even their chairs if necessary.

That’s it for Season 2. There were some other ones that came close, like Episode 67 on Wedding Color Palettes and Episode 46 on Secrets to a Meaningful Wedding Ceremony, one of my faves, actually.

The Best Wedding Planning Podcasts

Continuing on, we’re really only about halfway through season 3, so we’ll have to update this again at the end of the season. For now here are the ones you’re loving the most from Season 3.

 Season 3:

#5 – Wedding Budget Template Tutorial (Ep. 75) – Personally, I loved this one because I put together a wedding budget with you live line by line, along with formulas with how I calculate certain line items and you guys liked it, too!

#4 – How to Put Together a Realistic Wedding Budget (Ep. 72) – Naturally, another budgeting episode. In this episode, I interviewed Renee Sabo, owner of Urban Soiree and she gave us great tips on where to do research as you’re putting together your wedding budget so you can make good guesstimates about how much a vendor or line item might cost.

#3 – Should I Plan My Wedding for 2023 or 2024? (Ep. 68)– I’m honestly not surprised this one was so popular. As a wedding planner, I see both sides . Some couples have short windows of time to plan their wedding and others seem to take forever to plan their wedding. There are pros and cons to each, and if you’re listening to this live right now there are still vendors and venues with open dates for 2023. People think if they wait until 2024 they will have time to save money, but there are pitfalls to doing so, which I discuss in Episode 68.

#2 – 6 Important Details to Include on Your Wedding Website (Ep. 69) – In this episode, I share with you some surprising details you should definitely include on your wedding website that go beyond date, time, and location.

#1 – Red Flags to Avoid During Your Wedding Budget Search (Ep. 70) – Finally, this episode with Courtney and Dana the owners of Anthem House, a gorgeous wedding venue in North Carolina. This episode was #1 so far in top downloaded episodes for Season 3. In this episode, Courtney and Dana share some big red flags they see as wedding planners and venue owners that other venues are doing that are big no-no’s. As a couple, you’re probably going to be very new to the whole venue search, so make sure you listen to this episode so you don’t get caught in a contract that you don't understand and end up regretting  later.

That’s it for this week’s short and sweet episode. If you haven’t listened to any of the episodes I talked about above, make sure you do. Follow and subscribe to our podcast in Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, wherever you listen.

Thank you so much for joining us today. I can’t wait to talk to you all next week. On next week’s episode, I’m interviewing a woman who is a professional bridesmaid and maid of honor. It’s absolutely fascinating and I can’t wait for you to listen!
