I’m going to be real with you all today. There is A LOT of wedding “inspiration” out there. This is great because couples like you can find ideas to personalize your day and make it unique to you. But, it can become overwhelming. And in events, execution is everything. Pinning an idea on Pinterest is great, but how do you know which wedding decor vendors in upstate New York will execute your idea the way you want? And there are a lot of vendors out there. Does this struggle sound familiar?
According to Martha Stewart Weddings, couples without a wedding planner spend 200-300 hours planning their weddings. (Holy crap that’s a lot of missed brunch dates and spin classes!) A majority of that time is spent finding the right vendors. As a wedding planner, curating the vendor team for my clients is one of the biggest benefits I offer my couples. It takes a lot of networking and trial-and-error to know which decor vendor or rental company is the best for what you have in mind.
In today’s post, I’m going to tell you who my favorite upstate New York wedding decor partners are to execute those ‘Wow!’ photo-ops at your wedding. Forget hunting on Craigslist or Facebook hoping to buy decor or furniture second-hand! When will you need 150 chargers again, anyway?
When it comes to anything on the table, Petunia Rose is THE ONE. Eileen Wright has searched the world to find the most amazing pieces to set a killer table. Her collection ranges from vintage china to modern hand-painted flatware. You cannot go wrong with working with Petunia Rose China. Her pieces have graced tables set for anyone from HRH the Duchess of Cambridge to Queen Bey. (Photo Credit: Tammy Swales Creative)
Jodi Muscate at Revival Vintage Rentals has virtually any chair, couch, or backdrop you might need for your wedding. If she doesn’t have something in her wedding decor collection, she will either find it or build it. From vintage to boho, her pieces transform any space. I am obsessed with her emerald couch and Moroccan poufs (see above)! They will help your wedding stand out in your guests’ minds. And TBH, she’s one of the coolest people I know, so trust me when I say you will love working with her! (Photo Credit: Julia Rabkin Photography)
Dawn Meyvis’s love for furniture restoration served as the impetus for Something Borrowed. Her extensive wedding decor collection ranges from vintage furniture to custom painted pieces. She specializes in custom arbors and backdrops, sweetheart tables, and decor. Check out this circular arbor we used for our mimosa escort card display! She lovingly restores many of the pieces herself, giving them new life. What strikes me the most about Dawn is her commitment to curating the best inventory – the level of care she gives each piece is remarkable! (Photo Credit: Jenny Berliner Photography)
From Cali to DC, the team at McCarthy Tents & Events is one of the best wedding decor and event rental companies in Western New York. They focus on providing clients superior, meticulously-kept equipment, and stellar customer service. And yes, their inventory is awesome. (I love the edgy touch their Tolix chairs gave this desert-inspired table a few weeks ago.) They even have a shop to build anything their clients want. But it’s their customer service that keeps me recommending them every time. In the wedding world, there are no second chances. The McCarthy team gets it right the first time every time, which is the best thing in the world to a planner! (Photo Credit: Tammy Swales Creative)
If you have been with me for a while, you know my love for all things paper. Your wedding stationery sets the tone for the rest of your wedding. It is the first glimpse your guests get of your celebration and gives them an idea of what to expect. And I adore creative escort card displays. They are one of my favorite ways to add an element of surprise and bring your unique personality to the wedding day.
There is nothing the sister-friends at Louelle Design Studio cannot handle. Andrea Durfee has a degree in studio art and printmaking. And Ashley Durfee finds the most beautiful materials for invitation suite and installation. Together, this duo exceeds my clients’ expectations a million-fold. From custom hand-painted napkins (see left) to escort card installations (see right), their pieces are literally works of art in every way imaginable. Maureen Higgins at Stone Fruit has a unique background that makes her a perfect wedding stationery partner. Her experience as a graphic designer, event planner, and floral designer give her edge in creating custom stationery for any event. What I love most about working with Maureen is her edgy style. She is trendsetter (as opposed to a trend follower) and gives clients unique pieces that make my clients cry (literally!) – but happy tears only. (Photo Credit: Stone Fruit)
