Becca & Geoff’s Wedding Weekend at the Inns of Aurora with a Meaningful Fall Wedding Design

September 30, 2025

Some weddings are beautiful, but others feel like they belong to the couple in every detail. Becca and Geoff’s wedding weekend at the Inns of Aurora was exactly that. It was layered with intentional choices, meaningful symbolism, and the kind of fall wedding design that not only set the scene but told their story. From the lakeside setting to the smallest personal touches, their celebration reflected who they are and the life they’re building together.

At Verve Event Co., we believe design should always feel like an extension of your story. Over the years, we've had the honor of helping couples craft weddings that are not only elevated in style but also deeply personal, rooted in family traditions, shared passions, and details that matter. It’s what allows a wedding weekend to feel both effortless and unforgettable.

Today, we have the honor of sharing Becca and Geoff’s wedding weekend at the Inns of Aurora, where every layer of design, from their color palette to the flow of the weekend, was infused with meaning.

Here's what they had to say:

Oh goodness, I could go on and on! From start to finish, the cohesiveness of the entire weekend was noticed and admired by all the guests. Every single vendor felt like family, and Verve did an unbelievable job of making the wedding so “us”! From the food to the decor and the flow of the different events, many of our guests told us – and I quote – “this is the best wedding I have ever been to”!

Ditto on the cohesiveness! One guest told us that when they were sitting in front of the chuppah, they felt like they had walked into the save the date. Everyone raved about the flowers – seriously, everyone! Over and over, we heard that they were the most exquisite flowers they had ever seen. People said they had so much fun, they danced most of the night. They loved the food (you know how worried I was about that). They raved about the cocktails. They even loved the speeches! As we look at some of the videos friends took, we see so many smiling and laughing faces at every moment of the wedding – even the potentially “boring” parts.

A Warm Welcome by the Lake

The weekend began with a welcome reception on the lawn at the Inns of Aurora, where a sailcloth tent set the stage for an evening of connection and celebration. Long farm tables were dressed with patterned runners, woven chargers, and simple fall blooms, creating a relaxed but elevated setting. Guests enjoyed heartfelt toasts from family, moments of laughter that filled the tent, and the ease of knowing everything had been thoughtfully planned.

As Becca and her mom shared afterward, they felt like true guests at their own party—every detail was handled, down to the welcome speech we tucked under their chairs. The night ended in the most unforgettable way, with guests jumping into the lake under the stars, a spirited reminder that this weekend was about joy, togetherness, and memories that would last well beyond the wedding day.

Getting Ready Moments

The morning unfolded with an easy joy that set the tone for the day ahead. Becca spent the morning surrounded by her closest friends and family, sharing laughter and a few happy tears as final details came together. The sentimental highlights included her first look with her dad, a moment that was as emotional as it was unforgettable, and quiet exchanges with her mom that felt both grounding and celebratory.

Meanwhile, Geoff and his groomsmen gathered on the porch in tailored gray suits, relaxed yet excited as they helped one another with ties and shared stories. From the invitations and heirloom details to those intimate getting ready moments, every element reflected the thoughtful fall wedding design woven throughout the weekend.

A First Look and Private Vows

By the lakefront ruins at Inns of Aurora, Becca and Geoff shared a first look. With the water glistening behind them, they exchanged private vows—an intimate moment filled with happy tears and quiet promises before the day unfolded. This pause together not only calmed nerves but also set the tone for the celebration ahead. From there, the energy lifted as the couple joined their wedding party and families for portraits, capturing both candid laughter and timeless group photos before the ceremony began.

A Ceremony Framed by Florals and Family

The ceremony took place under a sailcloth tent with panoramic lake views, where lush florals lined the aisle in a palette of peach, mauve, deep purples, earthy greens, and soft blues. Each shade carried meaning: purple honored Becca’s grandmother, whose favorite color was a way to keep her memory close; green reflected the couple’s love of nature and hiking; leather-toned accents tied back to Becca’s equestrian career; and blue served as a nod to the lake where Geoff proposed. The floral arch at the altar tied these elements together beautifully, creating a fall wedding design that felt both intentional and deeply personal.

For Becca’s walk down the aisle, both her mom and dad escorted her, a meaningful choice that reflected the couple’s emphasis on family throughout the weekend. Guests stood surrounded by these symbolic blooms, creating an immersive, garden-like atmosphere as Becca and Geoff exchanged vows. The ceremony itself was heartfelt and personal, with thoughtful touches that made every guest feel included in such a significant moment.

The balance of intentional design and authentic emotion set the tone for the rest of the evening—an elegant yet welcoming celebration that reflected Becca and Geoff perfectly.

A Fall Wedding Design with Meaningful Details

The design for Becca and Geoff's day was layered with both seasonal beauty and personal touches. The fall wedding design featured a palette of romantic blooms in soft pinks, purples, and earthy tones—echoing the same thoughtfulness woven through the ceremony. Velvet lounge seating in deep green, mustard, and blush offered guests cozy spaces to gather, while candlelight added warmth to the tented celebration.

Everywhere guests looked, Becca and Geoff’s personalities shone through. The seating chart, inspired by trees and their love of the outdoors, guided guests to their tables with the reminder that adventures are better shared. Their beloved dogs made appearances in illustrated details, from the escort display to the custom signature cocktails named after their pups. Even the dinner tables carried intentional design with patterned plates paired with green linens and layered floral arrangements.

Together, these elements allowed us to create a design that didn’t just look beautiful, it truly felt like Becca and Geoff. Every color, flower, and detail told their story, making the celebration deeply personal while embracing the richness of the season.

A Sweet Ending to the Day

As the sun set, the celebration carried on with all the joy and emotion of the day. Heartfelt toasts from family and friends painted a vivid picture of Becca and Geoff’s love story, bringing both laughter and tears from the couple and their guests. One of the most touching moments came when Becca’s family surprised her with a performance—each member proudly wearing shirts spelling out “Becca & Geoff”—a gesture that left the bride smiling through happy tears.

The night flowed seamlessly from emotional moments to pure fun. Guests filled the dance floor, and Becca and Geoff were lifted high in their chairs for the Hora, an exhilarating highlight that had the whole room cheering. Sweet parent dances brought even more sentiment, with Becca sharing a joyful dance with her dad and Geoff’s mother moved to tears during their own special moment.

Every detail of the reception reflected Becca and Geoff’s personalities and the people they love most, from the personalized touches to the lively, love-filled atmosphere. Surrounded by their families and closest friends, the couple ended the night just as they had begun it—hand in hand, smiling ear to ear, and ready for the adventures ahead.

It's scary trusting someone you don't know to plan one of the most important days of our lives! As a bride, I didn't really know what I wanted, but I knew the feeling I wanted people to leave with. Trusting someone with that vision (or lack of) isn't easy to do.

From the first time we spoke, it was clear that you knew everything – and then some – about wedding planning. Not only did you embrace our “vision,” you knew things that we needed, before we even realized. From the first conversation, you made us feel comfortable putting this day in your hands!

It was clear that you knew what to anticipate, whereas we had no idea. You had also worked at the Inns of Aurora extensively, our dream venue! You know the ins and outs of wedding planning and we never had any doubts about how you would bring our vision to life.
