About the Couple
One of the things I love about the wedding day is when I'm blown away by the love and support by everyone there. Tess and Sean's backyard wedding in Buffalo, New York was no exception. In fact, it raised the bar. The couple lives in Boston and has busy careers. Tess works in fashion and Sean works in production for a major network. So they appreciated having a planner that could support them from the beginning.
Being in the fashion industry, Tess already had a vision for what their backyard wedding would look like. It was a little hard to picture on a bitterly cold February day (hello, Upstate New York), but everything came together beautifully. All the sentimental details from the day blew me away. They included a family tree with photos of generations past and vintage champagne flutes and a cake topper from close relatives.
As a planner, it can be nerve-wracking when a couple tells me that their family is helping with set-up. I'm sure they're wonderful people, but I've never met them before. Can I trust them to do what the couple says they're going to do? Do they have the skills to do so? Is it even safe? It can be challenging directing people close to the couple. Luckily, Tess and Sean's family were some of the sweetest and hardest working people I've met – not to mention talented! But I'll let the photos speak for themselves.
