about the event
Kathryn and Ross’s wedding design was inspired by the feeling of gathering in a warm home at the end of winter and layered with details drawn from their personal interests, heritage, and everyday life together. Residential textures and collected details created an atmosphere that felt welcoming and relaxed while maintaining the formality of the occasion.
Their palette combined creamy neutrals with soft blues and greens, accented by chocolate leather brown, understated plaid, and a vibrant raspberry inspired by one of Kathryn’s favorite colors. Oatmeal velvet linens, warm wood tones, and the glow of amber candlelight created warmth throughout the space, while tulips introduced color and movement.
Personal details appeared throughout the design. Stationery incorporated wood elements inspired by early spring and featured illustrations of birds as a reference to the couple’s home on Audubon Street. Imagery of branches, berries, and thawing winter landscapes reflected Ross’s early vision for the season and introduced soft blue tones throughout the paper story. Tulips were woven into the weekend as both Kathryn’s favorite flower and a nod to the couple’s shared Dutch heritage.
Inspired by their love of cinema, beautiful flowers, and gathering with the people they love, the weekend felt layered, inviting, and true to who they are.

Every detail came together beautifully, but what stayed with me most was how calm and supported we felt throughout the process. We were able to truly enjoy the celebration knowing everything was being thoughtfully managed, and we’ll never forget the weekend Verve helped create for our families.
"We were able to truly enjoy the celebration."
Kathryn’s veil was made using fabric from her mother’s wedding dress, which had also been worn by her grandmother.
