Bébé It’s Cold Outside: My 2020 Gift Guide (AKA the Millenial Schitt’s Creek Wish List)

The holidays are almost here! And that means trying to think of things you “need” so other people can get it for you or your kids or your spouse. Wait, no, that's not you? Oh. Well keep reading anyway.

While I love shopping, I'm also in charge of organizing all the gift purchasing for both my family and my husband's family. I have multiple spreadsheets tracking who's getting what so there aren't any overlaps, the interns receive about the same number of presents (no one wants to feel like everyone else has tons of presents left when you're already done).

I spent a good portion of the weekend on the phone with both my mom and my mother-in-law helping them navigate the many websites and storefronts.

While shopping for others, I found a TON of cute stuff for myself and wanted to share because at this time of year, I'm always trying to remember what I ACTUALLY need and love asking people what they're asking for so I can add it to my list.

  1. I love this adorable Lili Mantle Poncho from Maisonette. I have a gray one from Ralph Lauren that my daughter loves, and she specifically asked for one this year, so Santa is bringing one. I just discovered Maisonette and they have adorable kids clothes and my sister who has a 2 month old loves that a lot of them are not made in China.

2. The Mini Venice DeMellier bag in Stone Croc Effect because the interns have basically worn down my current one and it's time for an update. I love that it's a cross-body because my hands are always full (water bottle, interns pulling on me, etc). and it has more of a unique shape than other bags. Plus, Kristen Belle has several and I'm obsessed with her.

3. This hilarious NONCHALANCE sweatshirt a la David Rose from Schitt's Creek or this Rose Apothecary Tank. But if apparel isn't your jam, this cute Rose Apothecary tote bag would be perfect for trips to your own general store or this hilarious David Rose coffee mug. (Can you tell which character is my favorite?)

4. This Skeem White Tea & Thyme candle from Stacy K Floral. It's literally heaven in a jar. I don't use a lot of candles because the smells start to give me headaches, but this is the BEST SMELLING candle in the world (and my husband loves it, too!)

5. These Athleta workout pants (20% off + 60% off sale) for all my workouts at the Y. I always ask for the ones with POCKETS, which is a genius feature and I don't know why more pants don't have them.

6. Speaking of pockets, I bought the Agatha dress from Reiss this fall (50% off) specifically to wear to weddings this summer because it has pockets. Their sizing is weird, though. I bought this dress in a 0 and have another dress of theirs in a 4.

7. This Sparkly Gray Sweatshirt also from Athleta because I'm very into comfortable loungewear while we hunker down during these winter months and since we can't go anywhere.

8. These speckled Joggers from J. Crew (50% off + 10% off) because, again, we're stuck at home, so I might as well look cute in my selfies with the kids.

9. This Hydroflask water bottle (43% offf). I first bought these on sale this summer for the interns going to camp. I was *shocked* when their water bottles came home that afternoon after a 90 degree day and the water left was STILL COLD. I carry a water bottle with me everywhere to make sure I hydrate and think it's time I upgrade my own! If Nordstom is out, you can also check on Hydroflask's website.

10. These camo running shorts from Athleta because they have POCKETS. I need them for my phone when I go running around the lake in the summer so I can listen to my podcasts.

11. These Brooks Adrenaline GTS 20 shoes. I've been wearing this same line of Brooks ever since I started running after our daughter was born. My feet tend to supinate (meaning the weight is on the outside) so these shoes help correct that. Now I just buy last year's model every year. Definitely get your feet checked before you buy shoes and you'll never search high and low for shoes that fit you!

12. These gorgeous white marble with gold foil polymer clay earrings from Jean and Bee. I've known Adrienna who makes these gorgeous earrings for about a year now and I'm so proud that she just launched her new handmade jewelry store! There are so many gorgeous pieces to choose from y'all. Many are already low in stock, but if you act quickly, you should be able to get this pair still! I also love these her Calico Tassels and her light blue Rag Doll collection.

I hope you enjoyed this round-up as much as I did putting it together. I seriously love / want / covet all these items and can't wait to see what's under the tree this year. 2020 has been a year and I'm looking forward to forgetting it all while I wallow in material goods with my family and tons of wrapping paper.
