How to Make Your Wedding Eco-Friendly

On today’s blog, we’re going to hear from an expert on easy ways you can make your wedding eco-friendly (and budget- friendly). This is such a great topic because in previous episodes, I’ve talked about the growing interest couples have in having a green wedding, which I think coincides with the recent push for more sustainable living.

Being eco-friendly is becoming more and more important for couples and consumers. According to a 2020 study by the Pew Research Center, Nearly two-thirds of U.S. adults (64%) say protecting the environment should be a top priority for the president and Congress (source).  Especially with the most recent push for conservation efforts, it’s so important to be mindful of the greener alternatives made available.

Lowell George of Nature Conservancy

Lowell George  is a Senior Corporate Engagement Associate at The Nature Conservancy.  She has always been one to fully immerse herself in nature. As a kid, she enjoyed hiking, kayaking, and spending as much time outside as possible.  Her passion for the outdoors led to study natural resources and environmental science in college.  Then, she worked for an environmental non-profit doing river cleanup in Washington D.C.

The Nature Conservancy is a charitable environmental organization, headquartered in Arlington, Virginia. The Nature Conservancy has over one million members, and has protected more than 119,000,000 acres of land. In her position, Lowell works with Fortune 500 food, agriculture, and retail companies to create and implement impactful sustainability projects. Furthermore, she’s also a newlywed and has many ideas to share with us on how we can make weddings more green.
