A Bridgerton Inspired Wedding Theme

June 29, 2022

< back to blog home

As a luxury wedding planner in Upstate New York, we never really plan our couples' weddings around a “theme.” That's not why our couples hire us. They might come to us with a theme or a few “trendy” ideas, but they count on us to take their idea and make it unique to them and their love story. After all, if you plan your wedding day based on the latest trends, in a few years it will look dated. Today, we're going to show you how we take a Bridgerton-inspired wedding theme and run with it to make it our own for one of the weddings we are planning in 2023!

We can't give it all away here of course but we're going to share a few pieces that make us excited for the Bridgerton Inspired wedding theme to come to life. Make sure to follow us over on Instagram so you can see it when it goes live! And save this post for later!

Creating a Bridgerton-Inspired Wedding Theme

When we sat down to start designing their Finger Lakes wedding, the bride showed us the two garden photos below. I instantly got Bridgerton vibes (possibly because it's so popular right now and I love to stay current on wedding trends!). Our bride-to-be loves Harry Potter and Jane Austen, and wanted her wedding to have an understated, natural vibe. Visions of wildflowers flooded my brain. She originally wanted her wedding in May, but it wasn't possible with their venue so we opted for the first weekend they would allow tented weddings instead. After all, the design we were about to create did not belong indoors!

Combining a Bridgerton Inspired Wedding Theme with organic floral combinations

Earlier this year, we talked about how organic floral combinations are an absolute favorite in 2022 weddings. Not only did we want to create a design with an abundance of florals and greenery, but we also wanted it to feel very natural and organic. Understated. Botanical. Our bride-to-be's favorite flowers are lilacs, which sat at the center of our design color story. If you are new around here, we never just choose 1-2 colors for the wedding design. We always create a well-rounded color palette for our couples so it will forever remain unique to them. Lilac and lavender shades sat at the center of their design, but we rounded it out with soft apricot, lemon, and peach tones. A perfect spring wedding color palette!

Adding Formal Vintage Design to Their Wedding Day

Often when you see vintage-inspired wedding decor on Pinterest, it feels a bit casual. For this wedding, we wanted it to feel natural and elevated, but still feel very formal (exactly what you would expect from a Bridgerton Inspired wedding theme). For this wedding, we are sourcing luxury vintage wedding decor pieces to bring us back to that 19th-century English garden feeling we wanted for their wedding day!

Planning a Unique Bridgerton Inspired Wedding

I can't wait to share how this Bridgerton-inspired wedding theme comes to life (this blog post really only shares the tip of the iceberg!) next spring. Their weekend welcome party (rehearsal dinner) has a more casual vibe than the wedding day – think Bridgerton when they're outside playing croquet – and trust me, I'm equally excited to bring it to life. Make sure to stay in the loop (and see stunning real wedding inspiration on the regular) over on Instagram.
