Elopements, Courthouse ceremonies, or intimate weddings. While they may not be the most traditional route, they can be a GREAT option for those who want to keep their celebration small. Plus, let's face it, big wedding celebrations are simply not for everyone. Smaller weddings can have a ton of perks that can make your ceremony all the more meaningful. At the end of the day, your wedding day should be about YOU. If you are leaning towards having a smaller or more untraditional ceremony, you may be wondering…

Intimate Weddings: Episode 66
Today we’re talking with a real couple about their plans and decision to host an intimate wedding. They didn’t have a small wedding just because it was a pandemic. They had planned to do a small wedding all along. But the reasons why might surprise you. So whether you’re trying to decide what size wedding is right for you, or a larger wedding just doesn’t feel like your style but you’re still trying to decide what is, you’re going to get a lot out of this week’s episode, so let’s get to it.
About Peter Gaston & Elisa Benson
I’ve known this couple for quite a long time. Elisa and I went to college together, and basically we're the same person because we had many of the same extracurriculars and classes together. Coincidentally, we’re recording this on Colgate Day, any day that’s Friday the 13th, but that wasn’t planned since I sprang this on Elisa 2 days ago.
Peter came on the scene quite a bit later, but I don’t love him any less because of it and I’ve loved getting to know him these past few years. I wanted to bring Elisa and Peter on the show today because, I had someone ask me to do an episode on mini weddings, courthouse weddings, and elopements. I immediately thought about Elisa and Peter for this reason.
Elisa and Peter got married during the HEIGHT of the pandemic. I’m talking May 2020 in New York City, which was almost ground zero here for COVID. At that time, basically no one was doing anything or seeing anyone – at least not publicly or in person. However, just because their ceremony was smaller in size doesn’t mean there was any less love and celebration on their wedding day.
