Happy New Year! I can’t believe we’re in a new decade! I may be dating myself, but I remember when it was 1999 and everyone was afraid that the computers, planes, and basically modern civilization was going to crash because we were on the verge of a new millenium.
And now 2020 is here and I’m so excited for everything that I have planned for this coming year! But before I dive into my next “big things,” I think it’s important to take time to reflect and be grateful for the past year.
2019 was a big year for Verve, so I invite you to take a walk down memory lane for our year in review! Join me as I celebrate some of our biggest moments and accomplishments, and give shout-outs to some truly wonderful people that helped make it all possible!

Spring
I planned, designed, and produced my favorite wedding shower to-date, which was published on Inspired By This! One of my favorite lifestyle blogs of all time!

This spring I started my series, Ask the Planner: Wedding Tips in a Flash! In Ask the Planner, I provide you expert tips on how to style, plan, and execute your wedding in short, 30-second clips. Get answers to questions you didn't know to ask in the time it takes to brush your teeth. Learn how to manage vendors, avoid surprises, and deal with disasters like a wedding pro. This is one of my favorites to share in this Year In Review!
Summer
This summer, I was invited to speak on multiple podcasts. If you don’t listen to podcasts, start now! I love listening to these shows, so I was really honored when they wanted to interview me!

Weddings
And of course, we can't forget what we're all here for: WEDDINGS! I was honored to be able to work with some truly AMAZING people this year. Each wedding had its own flavor, but all of them were sweet, sentimental, and utterly gorgeous. Check out some of the highlights below!
Tess & Sean’s Vintage Chic Backyard Wedding in Buffalo
Tess and Sean planned their backyard wedding, set at Tess's home, all the way from Boston. We had a very wet start to summer, which led to saturated grounds and the possibility of flooding. But nothing could ruin this day, which included vintage china from the bride's family, a live-painter, and a gorgeous tent. This day was truly a labor of love for the whole family.
Amanda & Tim’s Burgundy, Blush, and Dusty Blue Fall Wedding at the Country Club of Rochester
Amanda and Tim initially said they wanted a “cozy” and “casual” fall wedding, with a firepit and maybe s'mores. However, after deeper questioning and research, it turns out they actually wanted a very classic, beautiful, and elegant country club wedding, complete with a floral cloud. The day was absolutely stunning and the smiles on their faces was icing on the cake. I'll really miss these two!
Ingrid & Martin’s High-Fashion and Indigo-Inspired NYC Wedding
This one was such a meaningful one! My sister was the bride, and of course, she entrusted me to plan it! Did I mention I was also the Maid of Honor? Wedding planners wear so many hats on wedding day, but on this day, I also wore sister, mother (to the interns, who were flower girl and ring bearer), maid of honor, AND planner. But I was so honored that she trusted me to make her vision come to life. I wouldn't have had it any other way.
And then we ended the year on the highest note ever with a New Year’s Eve wedding with Sarah & Joe!
Sarah had a very specific vision when it came to the wedding. But both she and Joe were busy with their careers and had little space in their lives left to plan their dream wedding. Initially, she wanted an outdoor winter ceremony amongst the evergreens, but we all know how unpredictable Upstate New York weather can be! So we opted for a modern fête with a little edge, complete with *multiple* neon signs, an urban dessert table, and a champagne toast as we ushered in the new millennium – because who doesn't love bubbles?
