A New Take on a Blush and Burgundy Wedding at the Country Club of Rochester

January 27, 2021

< back to blog home

I love featuring real Verve weddings on the blog. Today, I am excited to share a new take on a blush and burgundy wedding at the Country Club of Rochester. When I started working with Amanda and Tim, they weren’t really sure what they wanted. They thought they wanted a rustic fall wedding that was timeless and unique. Originally, Amanda also thought she wanted a blush and burgundy wedding. She loved the rich color palette (also perfect for fall).

The more we worked together, the more I was able to pull out what they really loved about the fall in upstate New York. Spending time with family, being cozy, and pumpkin spice lattes. Once I showed them their options, they realized they actually didn’t love rustic at all (hooray!).

Here's the IG Reel I created for the day (to see the full version with the awesome song I picked out, CLICK HERE!).

Using Blush & Burgundy in an Elevated Way on your Wedding Day

So I designed an elegant fall wedding at the Country Club of Rochester that celebrated everything that they loved. When I showed her the wedding design, I suggested we incorporate other colors to round out the color palette and make it more sophisticated. Two-tone color palettes were very popular several years ago, but I prefer to design with a color palette that includes hints and touches of other complementary colors to give the overall look more depth.

I suggested adding dusty blue, mauve, and gold accents. When I showed Amanda and Tim the design, she absolutely loved it! She loved how it felt more complex and well-rounded. Two weeks later, she and Tim attended a rustic barn wedding of her cousin’s and guess what the color palette was? Blush and burgundy!

After seeing her cousin's wedding, she was so excited that we had already decided to go in a different direction. Instead of sticking to just the two colors, we incorporated other shades that worked with blush and burgundy that were also perfect for fall.

As I mentioned above, the bride loved pumpkin spice lattes. So our escort cards were personalized coffee cups that guests used to drink SPIKED pumpkin spice lattes, which we named after their fur baby, with their dessert and cake! In case your curious, here is the recipe we used!

I absolutely adored helping Amanda and Tim to bring their wedding vision to life at the stunning Country Club of Rochester. They really were the sweetest couple and it was so rewarding to work with a couple who trusted me to bring their vision to life. Not only did the changes we made elevate the design, it provided a unique and exciting experience for their guests as well. Just read their sweet review below!

Desiree was super organized, but also creative. I felt like she kept us on task and made sure we completed things on time, but also had great ideas for the design of the day. This was important to me because not everyone is so talented at both aspects of the planning process.

Because of working with Desiree, we definitely had lowered stress and quicker decision-making for sure. I trusted that Desiree had a clear vision for our day and that whatever she decided would be lovely. I often relied on her for her opinion and trusted her because of her experience.

It was the most beautiful wedding ever!!

Tim and I were also able to really enjoy it and just focus on having a great time with our guests because I knew Desiree was taking care of everything. It was awesome. The room was gorgeous. Seriously, it was so stunning and I was so happy with how it turned out. Desiree really did a great job on the design.

I think that the table setting rentals really made a big impact, and the flower installation was GORGEOUS. Also, the mosaic table set up was very cool. I loved how from our sweetheart table we were able to look down and see our whole bridal party in front of us having a great time. People also loved the “Maple” drink, which was a fun special touch. I wish we could go back and do it all again!!

It was the best wedding ever and I am so sad it is over!! I will miss working with you, Desiree! You kept me sane throughout this whole process and to me that is priceless 🙂

Hiring a Wedding Planner & Designer in the Finger Lakes of New York

Although this post is about using blush and burgundy in an elevated way, I don't want you to “copy” Amanda and Tim's wedding day. Don't get me wrong, you are definitely free to do so, but what I would rather you do is find a planner and designer you trust to enhance and execute your own wedding day vision. Working with a wedding designer can help make your wedding unique, memorable and timeless. If you are looking for a wedding planner and designer in Upstate New York, contact me here or read more about my services here.

Another reason to hire a wedding planner? Amanda and Tim didn't realize they wanted a country club for their venue until they say a few “rustic” wedding venues in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. Having a wedding planner help you find the right venue is invaluable.
